CHARITY DAYS

Lakeside Golf Club Camden is considered as a unique golfing venue in NSW with a beautifully landscaped course, a Clubhouse and Golf house offering coaching, competitions and apparel. Lakeside is passionate about supporting the local Macarthur community and aim to support several charitable organisations throughout the year. We invite members and guests of the Club to join the charity golf days and help our generous members raise funds for local organisations such as 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer and Share Care below.

 

A $10,000 SWING FOR CANCER

On Saturday 16th August  the course at Lakeside Golf Club Camden was a colourful sight as the dedicated golfing members at Lakeside Golf Club Camden, part of Wests Group Macarthur, wore pink and blue for charity; coming together to raise $10,000 for the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre.

Throughout the day the Lakeside golfing members showed their support through raffles, silent auctions and sponsorship to reach their goal fundraising figure. The Lakeside Ladies Committee put endless hours into ensuring the day was successful, colourful and fun.

A special thanks goes to the sponsors of the day: Toro, Vinidex Pty Ltd, Brown Bros Pumps, Hydrotechnics, Irrigation, Warby, Hawkins & Kumar, Macarthur Mowers & marine, Bankstown Helicopters, Emerald Hills Estate, Leppington Pastoral Co, Downes Nursery, Online Creative Design, Oxford printing, Lakeside Gold Advisory Committee, as well as donations from Monash, Bonnie Doon and Penrith Golf Clubs.

 

24 HOUR FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Lakeside Golf Club Camden recently provided sponsorship for the 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Annual Golf Day to support the 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer, Macarthur.

The Annual Golf Day raised over $30,000, which will go towards assisting

  • The Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre – Campbelltown Hospital
  • Paediatric Ambulatory Care – Campbelltown Hospital
  • Oncology Ward – Campbelltown Hospital
  • Palliative Care Unit – Camden Hospital

 

SHARE CARE

Lakeside Golf Club Camden sponsored a charity golf day on Thursday 27th April 2017, for the organisation Share Care, an intensive intervention program for children and young adults with a disability. Share Care also, provides emergency overnight respite for parents and carers in the Macarthur, Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown regions.

Share Care raised just under $10,000 and the enjoyable day included breakfast, seafood buffet, on course sandwich and 18 holes of golf.

 

INGHAM INSTITUTE CHARITY GOLF DAY

Legendary Australian Cricket Bowler, Len Pascoe was at Lakeside Golf Club to MC the Ingham Institute’s Charity Golf Day organised by the Nursery & Garden Industry NSW & ACT. With such a great cause, there was a fantastic turnout with over 100 golfers gathering to raise money for Cancer Research.

This is the third year the Ingham Institute has held this function at Lakeside Golf Club Camden on Friday 18th March 2016, with a total of $30,000 raised to date. Wests Group Macarthur CEO, Tony Mathew said: “It’s great to see the many charities and local community members on our Course raising funds for such worthy causes”.

The Board of Directors and Management at Wests Group Macarthur wish them well in their fundraising efforts.

 

CRAIG PINN MEMORIAL CHARITY GOLF DAY

On Friday 11th March 2016, Lakeside hosted 130 golfers for the Craig Pinn Memorial Charity Golf Day to remember Steve and Carol Rodgers.

Legendary NRL player Matt Rogers took part in the day to honour his parents and Craig. Special guest at dinner was Cronulla Player Paul Gallen. All funds raised on the day go towards the Juvenile Diabetes and Hematology department.

LAKESIDE KURT DRYSDALE CUP

The Rugby League community gathered at Lakeside Golf Club Camden on Wednesday 10th February 2016 to support some of Rugby Leagues finest including Brad Fittler, Braith Anasta, Brett Kimmorley, Steve Menzies, Nathan Cayless, Tim Brasher, Mario Fenech, Terry Lamb, Greg Alexander, Craig Gower and many more showed off there golfing talents. Australian Idol Shannon Noll was also on hand to support a great cause.

On June 7th 2015, Kurt Drysdale was injured in a simple innocuous tackle that left him a quadriplegic. His family has been left with the financial burden that his condition now requires. The management of The Wests Group of Clubs have a long history with Rugby League and generously provided the day to help the family for the long road ahead.

All the talk prior to tee off had Braith Anasta as the favourite. He did not disappoint having a score of 40 points off a handicap of 3.However he was outdone by former Australian and St George player Graeme Wynn with 43 points off 19. A great day was had by all in support of Kurt Drysdale with over $28,000 raised.
